What are Cookies

Cookies and similar browser storage technologies let a website remember information about your visit or your device. Fahrnex uses a small number of these technologies, described below.

Cookies

Small text files placed in your browser by a website. Fahrnex uses cookies for signed-in sessions, security (CSRF protection), and, where consented, analytics and advertising measurement.

Local storage

A browser storage area that persists on your device until you clear it. Fahrnex uses local storage to remember your cookie consent choice and your language preference.

Session storage

Similar to local storage, but cleared automatically when the browser tab is closed. Used for short-lived interface state during a single visit.

Other browser storage technologies

Collective term for cookies, local storage, session storage, and comparable technologies used to store or access information on your device.

Cookie Categories

Only strictly necessary cookies are active by default. Analytics and any future marketing cookies are only used after the visitor has provided explicit consent.

Strictly Necessary Cookies

Used for secure sign-in, session security, and CSRF protection, and other functions that are necessary for the app to work safely. These are active by default and cannot be switched off.

Analytics Cookies

Used only after consent for first-party product measurement and Google Analytics 4 website measurement. These signals help understand usage and reliability and do not load before consent is granted.

Marketing Cookies

Fahrnex uses Google AdSense to display advertising on selected public pages, such as the VIN decoder and business directory. These cookies are only activated after marketing/advertising consent is granted, or according to your choices in Google's own consent prompt where it is shown to EEA, UK, and Swiss visitors.

Managing Cookie Preferences

You can change your consent choices at any time, including switching analytics or marketing cookies on or off.

You can withdraw consent you previously gave, which stops the related cookies from being used going forward.

You can delete cookies already stored on your device through your browser settings at any time.

You can reopen Cookie Settings at any time using the button below or the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

Third-party Services

Fahrnex works with a small number of third-party providers to operate, secure, and improve the service. Only the categories actually used are listed here.

Google Analytics

Consent-based website and product analytics, loaded only after analytics consent is granted.

Google AdSense & Consent Messaging

Advertising on selected public pages, together with Google's own consent messaging for EEA, UK, and Swiss visitors.

Payment Processing (Stripe)

Checkout and billing are processed by Stripe. Payment details are handled directly by Stripe and are not stored by Fahrnex.

Bot & Form Protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)

Helps verify that form submissions are made by a human rather than automated software.

Hosting Infrastructure

The website and application are delivered using cloud hosting and content-delivery infrastructure necessary to operate the service securely and reliably.

This Cookie Policy may be updated as our technologies, features, or applicable legal requirements change. The latest version will always be available on this page, together with its effective and last-updated dates.
